Field Campaign Manager

Oceana’s US team is seeking a Field Campaign Manager to generate grassroots support along with the Oceana’s Field Team for Oceana’s U.S. campaigns by working in strategic states to reduce plastic pollution, prevent the expansion of offshore drilling and seismic air gun blasting, protect the ocean wildlife, promote responsible fishing practices, and defend core environmental laws like the Magnuson-Stevens Act. Field staff build support for our plastics campaign at the local and state level and build on our winning model to stop the expansion of offshore oil and gas drilling activities by engaging municipalities and business leaders. This position is based in Los Angeles/CA area.
The Field Campaign Manager is responsible for organizing and building power in their state and directly managing a team of field staff. This position reports to the Field Director and works closely with campaign directors and campaign staff. The Field Campaign Manager develops and executes campaign strategy in the field and works with field staff to meet campaign goals and objectives. Field staff manage a varied and high-volume workload; this position requires initiative and an ability to work on individual deadlines while also engaging fully as part of a dynamic and high-performing team.
The successful candidate will bring at least 9 years of progressively complex professional experience and at least 4 years of management experience. The Field Campaign Manager will manage Oceana’s team of West Coast-based field representatives – a diverse mix of individuals with different strengths – to meet time-bound, individual, and campaign goals and objectives.
